Patrick Trefz, a Senior Staff Photographer of Surfer Magazine; Author of “Santa Cruz: Visions of Surf City” and “Thread”; Director of the films “Bicycle Trip” and “Thread”, will share his surf photography, along with screening his newest film “Idiosyncrasies” at Clickers & Flickers’ photography-networking dinner Wednesday, July 28, 2010. Trefz was born in 1970 in Düsseldorf, Germany and now lives and works in Santa Cruz, CA. Trefz has been a featured artist in the exhibitions “Cross The Nation”, “Any Given Wednesday”, and “The Art & History of Surfing” among many others. Trefz’ work has been featured in The Surfers Journal, Surfer Magazine, The New York Times, LA Times, Surfers Path, Men’s Health, Australian Surfing Life, and many other prominent publications. Patrick Trefz’ newest film release "Idiosyncrasies" presents an exploration of some truly unique minds, revealing what’s behind the impact of some of surfing’s most influential underground individuals. Through their art and music, surf craft and lifestyle choices, Patrick Trefz offers an intimate look into the vital and intriguing lives of these iconoclasts – ranging from twenty-year old Leanne Curren to sixty-one year old Harbor Bill Mulcoy "Idiosyncrasies" reveals its subjects’ unique characteristics as they manifest both on land and in the water.
